Tampa

I cover the Florida territory for work so I’m lucky enough to be able to travel there at least 1-2 times per quarter. This was the first time I got to go since I started not too long ago, and the first stop was Tampa Florida.

Flying into Tampa and even over the state in general, all you see in large and small bodies of water everywhere. All I could think was swampy alligator water! Once we landed though, that was the last thing on my mind. Our hotel was right on the bay and we had a beautiful view of the water, dock and island. The hotel, Bay Harbor, was not the best, it was pretty old and didn’t have very many amenities, but the view made it worth it.

When we were not in meetings, we were exploring Tampa Bay. We came across the Buccaneers Stadium and just across the street from it was the baseball stadium where the Yankees were holding their annual spring training program.

For dinner we chose a nice steakhouse where I got a great thinly slice steak along with a potato covered in bacon which I highly recommend. Their pudding however I don’t recommend! But you won’t believe what we found out the following day.

We were choosing between 3-4 different restaurants for the night before and one of our choices that were down the street from the one we ended up at, had Taylor Swift eating there!! Apparently she was in town for her father’s birthday and they had plans to take the boat out on the bay! If we would have chosen correctly, we would have been dining with T-Swift! What can you do? You win some and you lose some.

The short stay in Tampa Bay was fun and relaxing with the perfect weather. Next time I’ll have to go downtown and I’ll report what I find! If you guys have any tips or places to visit, send me a message!

Yours Truly,
B
