The Grafton Hotel on Sunset – An Amazing Stay

On my recent trip to LA I decided to stay at the Grafton Hotel on Sunset! I’ve stayed in West Hollywood before, but not right on Sunset, so this location was amazing! It was just a short three-minute drive to the Beverly Center, five minutes to Melrose and ten minutes to Rodeo Drive! It was seriously prime location!

Upon arrival, valet greeted me with a warm welcome and grabbed my bags, while guiding me inside. The first thing to catch my eye were the beautiful chandeliers in front of the Hollywood sign wallpaper. And to no surprise there was actually a photo shoot happening right there in the lobby… it’s LA after all! I’m not sure who the three men were, but if I were to make a guess, I would say a rock band!

I was able to check in seamlessly and that was very much appreciated since I was running behind for a photo shoot on Rodeo Drive!

In case you haven’t noticed by now, I get distracted easily and one thought leads to another and before you know it I’m talking about game shows from the 90’s 😉 .. So back to the hotel! I opened the door to my room and I was pleasantly surprised! There was a huge couch, a super cool, LA vibe wallpaper, and another one of those beautiful chandeliers they had in the lobby.

The whole room was so urban and chic! It had a cozy, warm vibe to it with red tones, animal print carpets and trendy furniture. And the bed… OMG you guys!! The bed was SO comfortable!!! But not only that, there was a robe and pair of slippers waiting for me in the closet 😉 I don’t know about you guys, but I live for hotel robes and slippers!! Who’s with me?!

And did I mention they had snacks?!! Y’all know I love a good treat, so when I saw their assortment, I was in heaven! They seriously had all the snacks you could want! Everything from cookies (my FAV!), to gummy bears, to m&m’s, to trail mix. As well as soda’s and alcohol! I’m not much of a drinker, so I opt for the soda. They also had Evian water throughout the room, which was a nice added touch.

The bathroom was also stocked with all of the necessities and had amazing lighting! In case you didn’t know, good lighting is essential to a blogger. I meannnn… how else are you going to take a good selfie?! Or get ready for your photo shoots? Lighting is key my friends!

But my favorite part about the hotel HAD to be my view! I was poolside and had the cutest little patio just outside my door where I could (and did) have lunch while soaking up the warm California sunshine. Room service delivered lunch one day and I had the perfect lunch spot. So if you stay here, I definitely recommend getting a room by the pool. My room was 104 for reference!

The chairs and towels are complimentary too and the amazing staff cleaned the area regularly! I spoke with one of the employees and they said they wanted to make sure each guest received the same experience, so they were always restocking towels and sitting the chairs upright. That’s what I call amazing service!

I also stopped by their bar, Bar20 next to the main lobby to grab my complimentary drink (each guest gets one). And since I went during the day on a Thursday it was pretty calm, but that just meant I got immediate service! Can I get an Amen?!

The Grafton  has a really cool, cohesive vibe throughout the whole hotel and you can see from the photos. I loved the studded stools, quilted couches and red, white and black color theme. This bar gets pretty poppin’ at night too! They often have live music playing for the guests and it’s a nice intimate space to enjoy the night.

And of course, I couldn’t leave without trying their steakhouse, Oliver’s Prime. It’s just steps away, through this beautiful white door in lobby.

Once again, it was pretty quiet because I went at 8pm and they were closing at 9pm that night. But after a long day of photo shoots and meetings, it was just what I needed! The dim lighting and quiet atmosphere was perfect and I was seated immediately.

They started me off with some bread and butter, along with a bottle of water. Once again, I go to restaurants specifically for the bread! haha! I will seriously eat a whole basket before my food comes out! #noshame

So after about 5 pieces of bread and about fifteen minutes of staring at their mouth-watering menu, I decided on the Classic Baked Shrimp Scampi. I’m a sucker for shrimp! Ask DeAndre, we’ll go to Ruth Chris and I’ll order shrimp.. So weird, I know! haha!

But anyway, the dish was DELICIOUS!!! It had garlic, white wine, herbs, breadcrumbs and rustic grilled bread. I would HIGHLY recommend it if you’re in the area! Executive Chef Greg Elkin did an AMAZING job!

After finishing my dinner however, I realized the group dining next to me must have been food critics of some sort. The chef came out at the end of their meal and discussed the plates one by one and received feedback after. Almost like a critique. This is reason #19482947 why I love LA! There’s always exciting things happening around you! Especially at the Grafton!

So overall I had an AWESOME time staying at the Grafton Hotel on Sunset and I will definitely be staying there again!

Thank you to the Grafton Hotel on Sunset for making this stay possible!
