5 Ways To Stay Calm During A Flight

So I think it’s safe to say fear of flying is a pretty common thing. While I’ve flown time and time again, even 25+ flights in one year alone (when D was in New England and I traveled for work), I still get butterflies every time before boarding! .. Heck, I even get them the night before when I’m checking into my flight! I should honestly be a pro by now, but the truth is, I’M SCARED OF FLYING! And I know I’m not the only one out there, so I thought I’d share 5 ways I stay calm during a flight.

As with anything, it takes time and sometimes even mistakes to learn tips and tricks to whatever you’re doing. And trust me, I’ve made some huge mistakes when it comes to flying! Hopefully these 5 ways on how to stay calm during a flight will help you from making them too!

Now let’s get ready for takeoff!!!

Please refrain from using your cellphone for the remainder of this post (haha! yeah right!)

Grab your notebook and pen from the seat pocket in front of you (or you know, wherever it is πŸ˜‰ )

And should we experience any sudden loss in cabin pressure throughout this post, chocolate bars will drop down from the panel above your head… (I’m pretty sure this is how it goes πŸ˜‰ )

Alright guys, we’ve made it into the air and are cruising at an altitude of 23726826382379 feet! πŸ˜‰ So now it’s time to let you in on my secrets of how to stay calm during a flight!

First, I hope you brought your iPad (if you have one)! You can watch the airlines movies (if they have some available-they might cost), or you can watch the ones you’ve downloaded before your flight! This gets your mind off the flight and makes time fly by!

Second, pleassseee tell me you downloaded all your fav songs to your phone or device, so you can plug your headphones in and just jam out or fall asleep! This also gets my mind off the flight and I just focus on rappin’ the words. Yes, 9 times out of 10 it will be rap music blasting in my ears! πŸ˜‰

Third, where’s your blanket and pillow at? It better be in your carry on if it’s not already on your lap! These always make me feel more at home and comfortable, which in turn makes me less stressed!

Fourth, A good snack alllllwaysss calms me down! Maybe its just me? But if I have a candy or treat, I guarantee I’ll be happy as a little clam! Plus.. no one likes those peanuts they give you. Am I right?!

And fifth… Girllllll, buy that wifi! Yes, it’s annoying having to pay for it, but I can’t tell you how relieved I am when I see D’s or my mom’s text come in when I’m panicking or experiencing turbulence high up in the sky! Plus, you can go on social media or browse the internet and it eats up flight time like no other!

**Bonus.. well, because you know I love y’all πŸ™‚ And this one is an obvious! While I don’t drink like that, a lot of people stay calm during a flight by grabbing a drink in flight! So if you think that might help you, go girllll!

I hope these tips helped you out the way they’ve helped me!

We’ve now made it safely to the San Jose International Airport! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and have a great rest of your day! πŸ˜‰

I usually love flying but long-hauls are simply a bore! Lots of podcasts, audio books, snacks and movies definitely help! AND a good pair of headphones πŸ™‚

These are great tips. I am the same way about a cozy blanket. It instantly makes me feel better, whether high up in the air or having a bad day at home!
