Orangetheory’s 1000th Studio Opening In Portland, Oregon!

Happy, happy Friday y’all!! Assuming you guys are all following along on Instagram now, I thought I’d do a recap of the trip to Portland, Oregon, I posted about two weeks ago!

So as you guys know, I had the opportunity to go to Portland with the Orangetheory Fitness team and a few other AMAZING influencers, to celebrate their 1,000th STUDIO OPENING!!!

WOW! Let me just say that again.. Orangetheory Fitness has opened their 1,000th studio! What a HUGE accomplishment and milestone! They opened their first studio in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in March of 2010 and have already hit 1,000 by July of 2018! AND they are well on their way of hitting their goal of 2,500 studios… Serving 2.5 millions members, by 2020!

But what’s even crazier…? They’ve never closed a studio since opening! That speaks volumes!

So the reason behind the trip (besides the grand opening of course!), was to take some Orangetheory classes and experience #1000xmorelife in Portland, Oregon!

Fun fact: I was actually born in Portland!

My family and I moved to California when I was in 5th grade! So going back and experiencing all Portland has to offer as an adult was SO fun!

We stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Portland and it was such a treat! I loved the boutique feel, the beautiful decor and the rooms were AMAZING!!!

I opened my door to a HUGE suite and the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Portland was so sweet, they put a bottle of champagne and light bites in my room as a welcome!

The Orangetheory Fitness team went above and beyond too by putting some more snacks, gifts and swag on the bed for the entire weekend!

And again, if you guys weren’t following along on my Instagram when I posted, don’t worry because I’ve saved all the stories to my “Portland” highlight! So if you’re wondering what the suite looked like, or what was in the swag bag etc, just head over to my Instagram story highlights and you can see it all there! 😊

So anyway, after unpacking and getting settled in, I made my way back downstairs to meet the rest of the group!

We had dinner plans at Tusk! A cute, bustling restaurant in the heart of Portland! I obviously ordered the prettiest, pink drink they had to match their cute pink menu’s! … I mean, come on guys. Anything for the gram! 😉 Right?!

Friday morning we rose bright and early for a morning class at the Orangetheory Fitness South Waterfront studio! It was my FIRST time taking a class and to be honest I was feeling a little nervous! The other five influencers that were in attendance have all tried Orangetheory before and with all the travel I’d been doing, I hadn’t had much time to work out in general honestly!… So I was pretty nervous to say the least! haha!

I didn’t know what to expect!!

Have you guys ever taken an Orangetheory class before?!

For those of you who haven’t, Orangetheory Fitness is a one hour, one-of-a-kind, group personal training workout! “Backed by the science of Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (or EPOC), Orangetheory’s heart rate monitored training is designed to maintain a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy.” Members typically burn between 500 to 1,000 calories in 60 minutes! And you keep on burning calories for up to 36 hours!!! That’s amazing right?!!

I ended up burning a little more than 700 calories that morning and I seriously felt like SUPER WOMAN!!! I kid you not you guys, there were moments when I just wanted to just stop and take a break.. where I thought I couldn’t go anymore.. where I even thought I might pass out (haha!). But there was just something about the energy in the room, the support from the other members in the class and the overall feel of it that just kept me going!

I honestly have never felt more proud to have finished a workout in my life!

It definitely kicked my butt, but I walked out of that studio feeling like I worked every single part of my body!

And the day had just begun! After-all, it was only 7am by the time we got out! What a way to start the day and get the blood flowing!!!

So we quickly made our way back to the hotel, showered and ate, then we were off to our next adventure!

The Foodie Bike Tour with Cycle PDX!

On the tour we made three stops. One for coffee, one for food and of course… one for DESSERT! I really enjoyed biking through the city from one stop to the next and the weather was PERFECT! But my favorite part about the tour had to have been when we rode all along the water! We took in BREATHTAKING views of downtown Portland, while a light breeze blew through my hair! LOVEDDDDD it!!! HIGHLY recommend!

The views of the river were towards the end of the tour though, so before we knew it, we were back at the shop turning in our helmets and bikes.

But don’t worry….

That just meant it was time for yet ANOTHER adventure!… Because #1000xmorelife of course!!

So next up… Kayaking in Lake Oswego! I’ve never done it alone before (meaning not tandem), so it was another first for me! The whole trip really put me outside of my comfort zone and I think that’s what made it so much better! I mean.. Nothing special really happens when you stick to what you’re used to… Right?! 😉

It was so peaceful and relaxing on the water and I’m so glad we went!

And last but certainly not least, we ended our night with a beautiful, intimate dinner with the CEO and other top executives from the Orangetheory team. We shared laughs, alligator stories (you guys know I’m obsessed! 😂) and some delicious food!!

The next morning we had another early wake-up call for a full day of excitement, so I woke up, got dressed and made my way downstairs!… But not before peaking inside the Nike swag bag they gave us the night before!!!!

If you know me, you know I LIVEEEEE in workout clothes! haha! Not only because DeAndre plays football and I’m always at one field or stadium or another, but because THEY ARE LIFE!! haha! Who’s with me?!!!

But anyways, that morning we hiked up to Pittock Mansion! It was quite a steep hike, but the views at the top were INSANE!! You could see Mt. Hood, Mt. Saint Helens and the entire city of Portland!

Oh! And the mansion… I meannn…. Can you say #GOALS!

Pittock Mansion was definitely a sight to see and is always on people’s must-see lists when visiting Portland!

But Nextttttt Uppppp…

The moment we had all been waiting for!! The grand opening party at Goat Blocks! It was POPPIN’ y’all!!!! So many people were there! Tons of swag being given out, they had food, they had drinks, they had desserts, they had a dj, games.. you name it!!!

It was such a great turn out and the energy was REAL!

It was such a special feeling being able to witness the ribbon cutting of the 1,000th studio and I couldn’t be more proud of the Orangetheory team!!

We celebrated for a few hours, then it was off to the next activity!

The DIY BAR!

It was the cutest little shop where you can make leather goods and sip on some tasty drinks! I’m not the most artistic person in the world (I say my older sister got all those genes), but I managed to make a luggage tag! haha!

And once we finished with all of our projects, we made our way to one of the last stops of the night!

THE BREWBARGE!!

*HIGHLY recommend!* You get on this cute little boat, BYOB and cycle your way down the river!! We had the music blasting, the snacks on deck (literally) and the champagne flowin’! I LOVED IT!

Sadly our time flew by and we had to hop off, but we still had dinner on the agenda!

So we stopped by a restaurant that’s known for it’s wings and laughed the night away before turning in for bed!

Sunday morning we all had one last breakfast together, then we were off to the airport to head home!

It was such an amazing weekend and I wish we could do it all over again! I made some great friends, pushed myself outside of my comfort zone, got some great workouts in (inside the studio and out 😉 ) and really just experienced #1000xmorelife!

Thank you Orangetheory Fitness for a trip to remember!!!

I’m trying to make my way to the Pacific Northwest and Portland is on the top of my list. Thanks for sharing a few things about Portland…. Also, I love orange theory and it’s amazing that they’ve already opened so many locations.
