Good evening my friends!! .. Or morning/afternoon, depending on where you are! π I thought I’d switch it up a little bit and share a little something sweet tonight, instead of more home stuff! I’m pretty proud of how my Sock It To Me cake turned out, so I wanted to share it in case y’all are looking for something to bake!
But don’t worry, if y’all we’re enjoying the home content, more will be coming your way in the next few days! And if you haven’t had a chance to check out the latest home posts, you can find them here and here!
So anyway, if y’all don’t follow me on Instagram yet, it was DeAndre’s 27th birthday last Friday and I obviously wanted to try my best to make it as special as possible!! So I figured I’d try my hand at his favorite cake!.. A Sock It To Me cake!
I was a little nervous about it too, because he only has it every couple years when one of his family members makes it and Sock It To Me cake is HIS FAVORITE, but I thought, WHY NOT?!
So I made it and it was actually quite a success!!
So here’s the Sock It To Me cake recipe!

Ingredients:
For the Cake Mix:
1 box of butter golden cake mix
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1/4 cup water
For the Filling:
1 cup chopped pecans
2 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
3 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
For the Icing (optional):
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk
** And PAM Cooking Spray or flour, OR BOTH to grease the bundt pan
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Step 2:
In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, eggs, sour cream, sugar, vegetable oil and water.
Step 3:
Grease bundt pan!.. Then GREASE IT AGAIN! You want to make sure you spray/grease/flour every part of it, so it doesn’t stick!
Step 4:
Pour 2/3 of cake batter into the bundt pan.
Step 5:
In a small bowl, stir together the pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. Then evenly pour that mix on top of the cake batter in the bundt pan.
Step 6:
Pour remaining cake mix on top of the cinnamon sugar mix.
Step 7:
Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Check to see if done (I use a skewer to poke through). Then let cool (in pan) for 25 minutes.
Step 8:
Create glaze by stirring milk and powdered sugar together, then pour on top of cake. **You can also sprinkle pecans on top, for little something extra as well!
Step 9:
Enjoy your Sock It To Me cake!! π
